This pyramid is well-known as “Pyramid of Kukulcán” and is the most evident example of the relation that exists between the toltecas of the center of Mexico and the Mayan town of the postclassic period. It was dedicated to Kukulkán, one of the main Gods of the Mayans of this period; it was the Mayan version of Quetzalcóatl, and he was related to the stations and the creation of the universe. Also it was the deified personality of the mythical king who recovered the city of Chichén-Itzá
