The "Vaquita Marina" (Phocoena Sinus) was unknown to the scientific world until 1958 when three skulls were found on the shores of the California Gulf. This is the smallest of all adult cetasea, it's not a common species and is endemic of the Gulf of California. Due to the rarity of this species and also to the commercial fishing activities, it is considered as a species in extinguishing danger.
